Creating Your Home Wishlist

Finding your new home is an exciting process. You will tour several properties with your realtor (that’s me!) and decide which best meets the needs of you and your family. Before we start touring properties, it is helpful to have a short list of non-negotiables you need in your new home. This list should be focused on items in the house itself, as we will have already discussed budget and location. Your new home wishlist should include things like the minimum number of bedrooms you need, how much backyard space you want, and other features such as a pool, detached garage, game room, master bedroom downstairs, etc. Keep this list to the absolute essentials. The longer your list becomes, the harder it will be to find a home that checks all of the boxes.

A fun exercise you can do as a family is have each person make a list (try using the one below) of the things they want in your new home, and then compare them to see what items you have in common and use the items in common to help you choose your new home.
